Get The Best Of Both Worlds With The Versatile T-Cross

Here we have a stylish and funky car with a functional design.

The Volkswagen T-cross is a small SUV that combines the urban appeal. It is bursting with character and is sure to be a trendsetter.

As some of VW’s products are nearing the end of their lifecycle, this car is the next generation, and the launch and timing could not be better.

With tons of new and exciting features, there’s a lot to rave about.

Volkswagen T-Cross 85tsi Life And 85TSI Style

There are two models in the range, the 85tsi life which starts at  $27,990 (competitors’ prices are similar). The 85tsi style starts at $30,990. Both have a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine.

Both models have their own features and are customizable. They include practically everything Volkswagen drivers expect from their cars.

When it comes to performance, dynamics, and dimensions, both models are the same. They each have two optional packages available, and these are what differ.

The VW T-Cross 85tsi life has the Driver Assistance Package, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, red cross-traffic alert, and a few other small units.

This comes at the cost of $1200. The second option is the Sound and Vision Package, including satellite navigation, a digital instrument cluster, and a 300-watt Beats premium audio system. At an additional $1900.

The VW T-Cross 85tsi Style also has the Sound and Vision Package ($1900). The second package comes at a whopping $2500 and is a variant-exclusive R-line Package.

Design And Interior – Leaving A Lasting Impression

This car has fine details, from a gloss black finish to soft-touch material. The vehicle has a versatile and spacious interior, and you can expect the highest quality style.

One thing to note is how great the seats are. The car seats five people, and both front pews feature lumbar adjustment.

There is a supportive and infinitely adjustable driver’s seat is. The rear seats are just as impressive, with a whole lot more space, the rear seat can also be adjusted, making for a boot capacity of 455L. This is greater than the Honda HR-V and the Kia Seltos.

So, the boot space is quite versatile and has enough space to fit whatever you need, from shopping bags to surfboards. There is not much that this city SUV doesn’t have.

The car also includes an 8. o inch touchscreen in the center of the dash, with wireless phone charging, rain-sensing wipers, smartphone connectivity apps, four USB ports, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The steering wheel has a supple leather texture with controls that give the driver the ability to operate infotainment and driver aid technology.

Driving Style And Features

he VW T-Cross outperforms when it comes to effortless city driving.

It is naturally soft and can easily soak up road imperfections and bumps.

The T-Cross has an impressive 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine, and at speeds of 50–60km/h in the suburbs, the T-Cross deals well with corners and various road and traffic conditions.

The only downside is that the car is a bit noisy inside. But on the other hand, fuel efficiency is a plus.

From a technology standpoint, the cars are well equipped with innovative features and standard equipment.

This includes inductive wireless device charging, wireless android auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, optional adaptive cruise control, and driver-assist features for added safety technologies.

Since it is a SUV, it has sporty exterior styling additions, these include dark tinted rear window glass, distinctive lower air intake, and Nevada alloy wheels.

They are making it the best car for all occasions.

Pros And Cons

Volkswagen’s small SUV is not without shortcomings. The interior storage could be better, and all of the option packs lift the cost.

The high-speed dynamics are also not the best. Some have also stated that at certain speeds the car tends to feel unreliable as if it cannot follow directions.

Some are also disappointed by the lack of lights, and there have been problems relating to the fuel-saving starting-stopping system.

The pros all come down to the engine and how well equipped the car is and the extra fittings.

These include the Volkswagen universal traffic recorder, which is a front and rear camera to record and it comes with a car finder function.

It also sports LED interior ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and the finishing touch of matching seat upholstery and dashboard décor.

Reliable And Safe?

While the drive may be fun and exciting, VW also has outstanding safety features. The T-Cross has a line lane assist to keep the vehicle within the road.

Light assist automatically turns on beams for visibility.

Rear cross-traffic alert at a touch of a button and optional adaptive cruise control.

So, we suggest you head to your local Volkswagen dealer and let them rock your world.
