Calby Releases Debut Album Burnout

Emerging as an international artist to watch, buzzing award-nominated Danish singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Calby unveils his full-length debut album, Burnout, via Republic Records today.

Tracks from the album have already begun to catch fire with 13 million-plus streams between “The Million Dollar Song,” “Burnout,” and “The Everyday Bit.” The album illuminates the dynamics of his simultaneously smooth and showstopping vocals. “Old Friends” pairs his powerhouse delivery with acoustic guitar and whistling, while “Married To Jesus” rides a strutting seventies-style beat through wistful horns and a head-nodding bass as his voice echoes to nostalgic heights. Then, there’s “Broken.” Delicately plucked guitar entwines with his undeniable voice on a folk-y rumination.

Striking an inimitable and instantly identifiable balance between pop and soul, he presents a style of his own and affirms as status as a breaking force.

Calby’s about to set pop ablaze with Burnout

Across the Atlantic in Denmark, Calby has cemented himself as one of the country’s breakthrough stars and now its soon-to-be hottest export. Co-mingling soulful vocals, bluesy guitar, and gospel range, he has racked up nearly 20 million global streams since 2019. He notably received two nominations at the 2020 Danish Music Awards, including “Best New Live Act” and “Radio Hit of the Year.” Already renowned for his powerhouse performances, he also received a nod for “Best European Artist” at MMETA Eurosonic Festival 2020. Meanwhile, his single “Burnout” picked up a platinum certification in Denmark and emerged in the Top 20 of the country’s “Most Streamed/Downloaded” songs. He even managed to sell out his first headline tour nine months in advance of the first show! All of these accolades position him for a major international introduction now.

Working with co-producer Magnus Larsson [Lukas Graham], expect big things from him in 2021.
