Paula Fuga – Rain on Sunday

PAULA FUGA RELEASES SECOND SINGLE Hōkūleʻa Star of Gladness, FULL ALBUM RELEASE, RAIN ON SUNDAY, AVAILABLE JUNE 25th, Lead single, If Ever at 3 MILLION+ multimedia streams to date and featured on Good Morning America live from Hawaii.

About Hōkūleʻa Star of Gladness

Another powerful celebration of nature and its wonders, Hōkūleʻa Star of Gladness reimagines a song written by George Boogie Kalama (a crew member on the Hōkūleʻa, the voyaging canoe that embarked on a legendary journey from Hawaiʻi to Tahiti in 1976). The Hōkūleʻa was built with the purpose of regaining certain knowledge that had been lost from Hawaiian culture—a way of navigating and seafaring using only the natural elements as their guide, explains Fuga, who’s close friends with Kalama’s son. At some point on the trip they entered the doldrums, a place near the equator where there’s no wind or currents. They ended up being stuck at sea for a while, and during that time he wrote this song about the constellation that guides the navigators back home.
