How Might Apple’s Vision Pro Impact the Online Gaming Landscape?

Today, Apple Vision Pro is a prime developer of the current technological revolution. Apple Vision Pro is the first step in the headset technology that will affect and most likely change gaming history. However, Apple’s Vision Pro’s impact is not exclusively for games, meaning its long-term goal is broader, relating to the global technological environment. With all the new features of the Vision Pro, it is worth discussing all aspects of this item.

Vision Pro’s Impact on the Online Gaming Landscape

Many experts classify headsets as destination devices, which means in the future, the games on all platforms will be more interactive similar to online video games such as Pokémon Go. In truth, Apple has been trying for years to encourage programmers to develop VR/AR apps. They even lay out the essential tools needed for VR/AR programming, saving programmers time to write code without any foundation. It is safe to assume that, relatively soon, we might see more online games. If, for example, sites like Casumo online casino with over 100 casino games will be more interactive in the future VR world, leaving the players with better immersion.

Even though this device is not gaming-centric, Apple has not forgotten gaming. The use case might take more time to get implemented. It is worth mentioning that Apple’s lens is single-player based. That does not mean that Apple is falling behind in modern tech. The company only wants to explore better options for the visual pro gaming experience.

Vision Pro’s Competition

The current market of headset technology is surprisingly diverse, with various products offering different types of XR experiences. From 2020 until 2022, the profits of VR products have doubled. It is still early to determine what really caused such high revenues in a small period. One of the possible answers for more VR can be gaming ever since it got more popular as an entertainment or non-gaming activity, for example, education, training, simulations, or work. Another reason for these high revenues can be simply their prices. VR is still relatively expensive. For example, Mark Zuckerberg Meta poured over 56 billion dollars, and that company has faced major losses.

Obviously, apple is aware of the market conditions of the VR industry, so their approach was for the Vison Pro to be a non-gaming-friendly product. Vision Pro is a more general device since it permits all kinds of programmers to develop apps for it. Meanwhile, they didn’t want to gamble with the price tag as well, so the current price of the Vision Pro is over $3,000, ensuring meaningful returns in the future.

The Tech Behind the Visual Pro

Even though the visual pro is an expensive piece of tech compared to other immersive headwear, Apple has a mostly positive track record of launching good quality products. The Visual Pro implements the M2 and R1 processing chips, which are important for first-party hardware. It has a two-hour battery life, 4096 x 5464 pixels micro-OLED resolution, hand and eye tracking, voice recognition, high dynamic range Apple product synchronization, and much more. Apple considers Visual Pro an immersive product fine for both online gaming and work.
