Today, Electric Blockaloo revealed the second phase of its lineup as it gears up to be the biggest digital music festival in history, June 25-28, 2020.

As festival-goers grapple with a growing virtual festival landscape, Electric Blockaloo stands out with a colossal international lineup curated by Rave Family, and consisting of the biggest names in electronic music and beyond. Newly announced artists include Steve Aoki with DIM MAK’s Dojo, rising London star and BBC Radio1 host Sherelle, and Detroit household names such as Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson and Seth Troxler.

House music will be represented by heavyweights such as Felix da Housecat, Todd Terry, DJ Sneak, Higher Ground headliner MK, Maya Jane Coles, Luciano and Skream, jam band performances from powerhouses Khruangbin, Too Many Zooz and Dirtwire, and EDM sets from bellwethers Galantis, Two Friends, Louis the Child, and Paris Hilton. These join some of the biggest names previously announced including Jauz, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, KSHMR, TOKiMONSTA, A-Trak, Nicole Moudaber, ZHU, Nora en Pure, Claude VonStroke, Claptone, Soul Clap, Lane 8 and over eight hundred more.

To ensure that rights holders are paid for the use of their music in the festival, Electric Blockaloo has partnered with streaming platform Mixcloud.

Rave Family CEO Jackie McGuire explains, “One of the biggest challenges for digital festivals is making sure that artists are compensated for the use of their music. We knew that in order to create a sustainable digital music event platform, we had to take care of that. With their advanced content ID system and unique music licenses, Mixcloud has been a great partner and we are excited to be leading the movement to pay artists fairly.”

Upon entering the festival, attendees or “Loozers”, are given free range of the grounds, with the ability to jump from stage to stage at their own pace, using replicas of the famed blue Doctor Who Tardis. Over 65 stages have been carefully curated and envisioned directly by the artists and labels themselves. From Red Blocks, a take on the famed Colorado amphitheater, to Thunder Mifflin, the coolest office in Scranton, PA, there will be plenty of familiar locations for Loozers to explore.

Artists have had full creative control of their stage designs, from Sacha Robotti’s SlothAcid stage, Steve Aoki’s blood sport Dim Mak Dojo, KSHMR’s Dharma Temple, Claptone’s Masquerade Stage, Maceo Plex’s Blade Runner inspired Ellum, a Higher Ground Space Station and Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Campout and Bass Lodge, which features nostalgic activities and games.

To further immerse attendees in the digital music festival experience, Electric Blockaloo attendees will also be brought together via Discord, an online chat platform where Loozers can communicate and meet up with friends and new avatars they meet in the game.

Electric Blockaloo will be available on both java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft, so fans can play on desktop or mobile. For music fans unfamiliar with Minecraft, the Rave Family Training Camp will be available to ticket holders in the run up to the festival where users can learn how to navigate, use special items, and even swim!

Living at the intersection of music and technology, Rave Family is a production company founded in 2018 by tech and investment veteran, Jackie McGuire. With roots in promoting harm reduction at live music events, Rave Family has always been committed to supporting its community and the causes near to its members hearts, and will continue this initiative for Electric Blockaloo.

The festival has partnered with various organizations that festival-goers can donate to and support while purchasing their ticket or during the game itself. Beneficiaries include Black Lives Matter, The Bail Project, a national fund aimed at preventing incarceration and combating racial and economic disparities in the bail system, and ByeBye Plastic, a movement to remove single use plastics from the music industry as a whole by 2025. Electric Blockaloo will donate 5% of its profits to each of these organizations.

A partnership with HeadCount, a platform that harnesses the power of live music to stage voter registration drives, will also allow ticket buyers to register to vote during checkout. Tickets for Electric Blockaloo will be available to purchase through individual artist and stage links.
