OVERNIGHT MOAB ADVENTURE

Overnight Sensations –

Moab Adventure Center Offers Options

For Visitors Short on Vacation Time

Short on vacation time this summer? Utah’s Moab Adventure Center suggests that a two-day break in a brand-new setting and doing something outside your comfort zone can feel like a week away.

“Moab is a great stopping point for that cross-country road trip or brief weekend getaway,” notes Moab Adventure Center Manager Cort Wright. “With so many half-, full-day and overnight adventures to choose from, no one is ever disappointed!”

Wright recommends these two water-themed, short-break options in the iconic red rock playground of Moab, encircled by two national parks and the Colorado River.

Option one is Colorado River/Moab 2-Day Adventure with one night of catered camping under the stars and rafting that begins where red rock cliffs cast towering reflections on the river.  The per person double rate of $295 includes all meals (including a barbecue lunch at a riverside lodge), camping equipment, transfers, and a choice of three different kinds of boats in which to experience the fun of rafting nearly 20 miles. Guests have the option of letting the guides stay in charge rowing an oar raft, or they can be part of the paddling crew on paddle rafts. Two-person inflatable kayaks are also provided so guests can take turns paddling on their own. For details see http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/colorado-river-adventure

Option two, Cataract CanyonRapid Express: Moab to Lake Powell, is a 2-day Colorado River/Moab raft and camp (one night) through 46-mile Cataract Canyon on the Colorado River as it cuts through the heart of Canyonlands National Park.  Just 30 minutes west of Moab, guests board customized, high-speed rafts that depart for a two-day, 100-mile Colorado River voyage. Experienced professional guides share folklore and facts about ancient Native American civilizations and early settlers while dropping into a series of nearly 30 whitewater rapids that make Cataract Canyon legendary. The journey ends on the scenic and still waters of Lake Powell before shuttling back to Moab. The per person double rate of $760 includes hiking, camping equipment, meals, rafting and transfers. A third option is for visitors who have secured their own lodging in the area and are looking for iconic adventure. A Moab Signature Vacation Package (with deluxe upgrade option) offers two days of activities with on-own lodging that include on Day One, an Arches National Park Tour in the morning and in the afternoon a Slickrock Hummer Safari. On Day Two comes a morning Colorado River rafting adventure. The per person rate is $215. With a $35 per person upgrade the Hummer Safari turns deluxe and includes drinks and appetizers at sunset and the rafting adventure moves from half-day to full-day and includes a barbecue lunch.
