Brenna D'Amico

Night Night Premiere

By Krishan Narsinghani

Freeform’s Famous In Love star, Nikki Koss, makes her debut as a director for the psychological thriller Night, Night. 360 Magazine had the opportunity to attend the premier in Malibu’s very own Country Mart, a first time ever screening in the vicinity. In attendance was the film’s lead actress, Brenna D’Amico, well known for her past work in the television film, Descendants. The movie was shot in Corsicana, Texas with Koss, Robert Johnson (writer), Austin Seltzer, and Ryan DeLaney producing and Amber McNutt executive producing.

The evening illuminated with a red carpet under the stars adjacent an intimate outdoor seating area at John’s Gardens, sponsored by Beverly Hill’s iSkin. Wine from a local Texas vineyard was surprisingly featured in the movie and was served throughout the soiree.

Acting from D’Amico shined as she plays a parent-less romantic named April who survives an almost fatal car accident. April awakens from her coma to find herself next to a man she barely remembers to be casually dating. With her family out of the picture, she relies on him to take care of her throughout the recovery process while facing psychosis and hallucinations from the medication. Viewers can suspect a roller coaster of emotions and some interesting spins on reality, trauma and love. It should also be noted that the music supervision aligned nicely with the shot selection. Fellow actors include Tony Todd (Final Destination), Eric Roberts (Candyman), Brooke Anne Smith, Adam Budron, Nick Marini, Matty Cardarople, and Neels Visser.

“Night Night is genre bending. It contains the classic, on the edge of your seat entertainment that’s expected from a thriller. However, what makes Night Night so special is how we let the audience live in the unknown with April. While she’s in a constant battle trying to figure out why these absurd phenomenons are happening to her, you feel the energy of being disoriented and stressed just as she does.” -Brenna D’Amico

“Night Night is really special film for a plethora of reasons. It’s a psychological thriller unlike most. I really tried to take the genre and turn it on its head. Specifically via a unique aesthetic that almost feels bizarre in conjunction with the script and a soundtrack that feels like an original parallel. I’m incredibly excited for the world to see this new take on a psych thriller.”  -Niki Koss
