EARNED HIS FIRST GRAMMY® NOMINATION – BEST GLOBAL MUSIC ALBUM, SOUNDS OF KUMBHA, FOR THE 68TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS® 

New Delhi-based singer-composer-producer – Siddhant Bhatia’s GRAMMY® nomination for his album “Sounds of Kumbha,” featuring 12 songs, with 50 global artists, and 12 striking music videos. “Sounds of Kumbha” blends ancient mantras, live field recordings, and binaural beats. The sound palette comprises the flow of the river, chanting crowds, temple bells, footsteps at dawn and moments of absolute stillness, all created with Siddhant’s Bhatia genius musical mind. This remarkable project is dedicated to the Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj. Which is the  ‘Festival of the Sacred Pitcher’,,  a Hindu pilgrimage, celebrated every four or twelve years, correlated with the partial or full revolution of Jupiter.

 

What elevates the project even more is its scale of collaboration. guided by seven producers—Siddhant Bhatia, Jim ‘Kimo’ West, Raghav Mehta, Madi Das, Ron Korb, Charu Suri and Devraj Sanyal. The album features an all-star lineup including GRAMMY® winners and nominees such as V Selvaganesh and Raja Kumari, alongside legendary Indian and international musicians. Amongst all of the luminary artists on this project, the stands out is Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a Global spiritual leader and humanitarian – who blessed, guided, inspired and performed on this incredible record.

 

“Sounds of Kumbha,” was commissioned by the Uttar Pradesh government as part of a cultural initiative, the album was produced in collaboration with Network18 and HistoryTV18, and is being globally distributed by Universal Music India. Devraj Sanyal, one of the producers and Chairman & CEO of India SA and SVP Strategy (Africa, Middle East & Asia) for Universal Music Group, said the nomination marked a significant moment for the South Asian music community. “It signifies the power of music in crossing boundaries and connecting hearts, cultures and histories, Universal Music India was proud to serve as a global partner for the album.”
Siddhant Bhatia feels pretty confident about The 68th GRAMMY®  Awards, even though he is nominated along with sitarist-composer Anoushka Shankar, Shankar Mahadevan-led Shakti Band, and jazz pianist Suri. This is the year for Indian recording artists at THE GRAMMY’S®, all making a strong showing for many nominations, receiving nods for their global music and instrumental work. Highlighting India’s growing influence in classical, fusion, and contemporary music categories. This lineup demonstrates the global reach and critical acclaim for Indian classical and fusion music, with artists pushing boundaries across genres.
