AARON CARPENTER – You

Today, Aaron Carpenter released his first single of 2020, the scintillating “You.” Teaming up with The Roommates – who also produced two of his 2019 singles, “No Control” and “Next” – Carpenter delivers a dizzying declaration of love that includes a nod to the lovers from Pulp Fiction. Download / stream “You” HERE.

Spring is in the air as Carpenter and a crew of vibrantly-clad dancers descend on a Los Angeles park in the official video, which was directed by Kate Rentz (Ella Vos Christian Paul). View HERE.

In this recent feature, Euphoria predicted, “With the reliability factor and being genuine reflecting a big part of who he is, the release of future singles will solidify what Aaron Carpenter is all about.” UPROXX included “Proud” in its round-up of “All The Best New Pop Music” last fall and noted, “With ascending vocals, Aaron Carpenter pulls from the emotions felt after moving to LA and leaving his family behind. The track’s shimmery keyboards highlight Carpenter’s emotive songwriting in the bittersweet ballad.” View his acoustic performance of “Proud” HERE.

BBC Radio 1 named “Attitude,”  his debut single, as one of the Best New Pop tracks upon its release last year. Idolator observed, “The Justin Timberlake-channeling, R&B/pop song [‘Attitude’] caught everyone’s attention, and he built on that momentum with the slinky ‘Chase’… [He] showcases his versatility with ‘Next’…battling a nasty case of lovesickness over The Roommates’ mellow beats…[that] will strike a chord with anyone going through it.”

Growing up in Louisiana, music was Carpenter’s entire world. Raised on everything from classic country to pop-punk to the Stevie Wonder records his grandmother often spun for him, he took up drumming at age 11, later teaching himself to play piano and guitar. He began posting cover songs in 2015 on Instagram, where he now has nearly four million followers.

Ready to share his own original songs, Carpenter headed to Los Angeles in 2016 and soon landed sessions with A-list songwriters. After spending nearly every day in the studio for an entire year, he signed with Capitol Records. The 21-year-old is currently working on his debut album.
