Reebok and Brain Dead today have announced their next exclusive capsule collection featuring two iterations of the iconic Club C Revenge incorporating fan-beloved inspiration while looking to the future. The Brain Dead x Reebok Club C Revenge capsule ($120) is available beginning August 9, 10:00am EST from WEAREBRAINDEAD.COM and Brain Dead Studios Fairfax before launching globally August 12 from Reebok.com and select retailers.
Popularized in the ‘80s on premiere tennis courts, Reebok’s Club C Revenge has become a brand staple. The shoe was issued in 1985 for club players who needed a durable performance tennis shoe. Today, the sneaker remains one of Reebok’s most popular models.
“Club C is probably one of the most iconic shoes ever made,” commented Brain Dead Co-Founder Kyle Ng. “It resonates with so many people and cultures.”
Integrating the model into its brand ecosystem, Brain Dead designers took inspiration from nature and the great beyond. Their take on the Club C Revenge offers reshaped lines and a playful fuzz texture, creating a soft imperfectness to the sleek shoe that makes it feel alive.
“We wanted to find a material that reminded us of natural ground,” continued Ng. “We thought about tennis courts and grass – from their it sprouted. We took the opportunity to revive a classic and uniquely remold it as our own.”
