Grimes: NFTs exceeded her Music Profits

Grimes, the world-known musician, made more money from crypto than her singing gig. Yes, you read it right she made more than $600,000 in revenue.

She made a huge chunk of money through non-fungible tokens, and it is reported that it was more than all the money she made from her music.

Grimes and NFTs

Grimes isn’t the only artist who has made a fortune off NFTs. Last year, the digital artist Beeple sold $3.5 million in work through Nifty Gateway. She is the most recent artist to join in on the NFT gold rush, selling her digital artworks after putting them up for auction. NFTs have soared in popularity in the last couple of weeks after Grimes’ news.

In 2021,  Grimes made history after selling tokenized art worth $ 5.8 million in less than 20 minutes via a nifty gateway, according to ‘NFT Horizon’. On February 28th, a set of 10 works — some one-of-a-kind, some with thousands of copies — were up for sale on Nifty Gateway.

The best-selling item was a one-of-a-kind film called “Death of the Old,” which features flying cherubs, a crucifix, a sword, and shimmering light set to original Grimes music. The winning bidder paid roughly $389,000. The majority of the sales came from two works that sold for $7,500 each and had thousands of copies available.

NFTs and Cryptocurrency are a Hit

According to an article in ‘Coin Desk’  NFTs became Grime’s largest source of income. After all, the singer played safe and did her research regarding NFTs and cryptos. Latter offers many advantages- unbelievable transaction speed, decentralization, diversity, security, transparency, and easy accessibility.

Whereas, NFTs enable customers to purchase ownership of a digital product, mainly a picture, animation, or video, in the form of a unique digital token that lives on a blockchain. According to ‘The Verge’ NFTs also allow buyers to support its artists.

Buyers may not be able to display these digital works on their walls, but they may be able to brag about getting a famous work like Nyan Cat or anything by a notable artist like Grimes. NFTs are also a speculative asset, and various marketplaces have sprung up that allow you to resale them – theoretically for much more if the buzz around NFTs continues.

In this dynamic era of plastic money, casinos aren’t behind in regard to blockchain integrations. With the introduction of cryptocurrency payment options, there has been a huge shift in online casinos and innovative live dealer game offerings. Many casinos with high RTP rates have not only accepted cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment but also have rolled out crypto rewards, promotions, and bonuses. And of course, the first blockchain-based money, which got accepted by the Casinos was Bitcoin.

To use cryptocurrency in casinos, the player can put their chosen cryptocurrency into their casino accounts and these transactions are done quite fast through cryptocurrency wallets. Similarly,  players can withdraw their winnings in cryptocurrency which is generally faster than the old bank transfers.

NFTs in Metaverse

Many artists from all over the world have earned a fortune with NFTs, they sell their art like music, paintings, designer clothes, shoes, etc and their audience buys it to enhance their avatar. Avatar is their online appearance, and genZ is all about virtual games, meet-ups, and online presence. They all gather in Metaverse and play games, buy gaming gear, interact with friends, and make their presence strong.

They want to look different from their online friends. In this era, they buy assets such as cool sneakers, crazy streetwear, stylish clothes, bags, and whatnot. We have also noticed a trend of kids asking for NFTs as their birthday gifts, as they want to spend on their virtual friends.

The most popular games on Metaverse are Decentraland, Metahero, Illuvium, Enjin, Horizon Worlds, AltSpace VR, etc. You must have heard about Sandbox, it is a popular metaverse coin. It has partnered with the world’s best intellectual property companies to bring the best user experience for you.

The ones who love land conquering might find Star Atlas interesting. Just make your commando profile, wear your virtual camouflage clothes, and gear up with your loaded LMG. This game will give you close to the real experience of fighting a military game.

For the fashionistas, companies like Balenciaga, Prada, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Adidas, etc are there to help you look like a star. Not just luxury brands, you will find Zara through its Stradivarius collection. What are you waiting for?
