“Brunch, Ball & Wellness” spotlights Black women’s health, healing, and legacy
As WNBA All-Star Weekend takes over Indianapolis, the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) and Beyond the Game Health will host a powerful and purposeful celebration: the 2025 WNBA Legends Brunch: Brunch, Ball & Wellness.
This private brunch will bring together retired WNBA legends, current players, and wellness leaders for an inspiring morning that honors the women who built the league, while also centering health equity, healing, and Black women’s wellness.
It will be hosted by both the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) and Beyond the Game Health.
Some of the panelists include:
• Rushia Brown – Inaugural member of the WNBA, founder of the Women’s Professional Basketball Alumnae Association, Manager of Team and Player Development – Los Vegas Aces
• Shamikka Marty, BCPA – Co-Founder of Beyond The Game Health, Motivational Speaker, Healthcare Advocate and Cybersecurity Expert
• Nadia E. Miller – Co-founder of Pink4Ever, host of Beyond the Pink Ribbon Radio Show, and a 17-year survivor of breast cancer.
Some of the confirmed players that are expected to attend: Cameron Ballard, Rushia Brown, Syvlia Crawley Spann, Kaela Davis, Antonio Davis, Marie Ferdinand Harris, Kym Hampton, Fran Harris, Deanna Jackson, Leslie Johnson, Danielle McCulley, and Imani McGee Stafford.
The event will take place this Saturday, July 19, 2025, between 11:00am – 2:00 pm.
It will be held at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites, which is located at 120 West Market Street in Indianapolis, IN 46204.
This event aims to do the following:
• Celebrate the legacy and contributions of retired WNBA athletes
• Highlight the urgent need for equitable healthcare and support for Black women in and beyond sports
• Provide a space for rest, recognition, and radical care during All-Star Weekend
