GRAMMY Award-nominated critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and R&B iconoclast GALLANT returns with a preview track entitled “Gentleman” today. Get it HERE via Mind of A Genius/Warner Bros. Records. Watch the video HERE.

Representing a palpable and powerful evolution, the track conjures the spirits of late nineties and early two-thousands R&B within a sphere of cinematic production cooked up by frequent collaborator and producer Stint [Banks, Santigold]. Over a minimalist hum, the artist’s seductive and show-stopping falsetto blazes brightly and brilliantly.

Additionally, he unveiled a stunning music video awash in dark blue hues for “Gentleman.” Built around tight angles and extreme close-ups, the physicality of the clip evokes the single’s energy and showcases what he calls, “My take on a nineties bedroom jam.”

“Gentleman” is Gallant’s first release since 2016’s full-length debut, Ology, which earned a GRAMMY Award nod in the category of “Best Urban Contemporary Album” at the 2017 ceremony. Most importantly, it heralds the arrival of his anxiously awaited sophomore album, coming very soon. Keeping things personal, he even personally shared what’s to come with a fan on Twitter, allowing her to break the news.

Tonight, he headlines an intimate sold out performance at Public Arts in New York followed by shows at National Sawdust April 5 and the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Cemetery April 17.

Within the next weeks, he’ll uncover his first single “Doesn’t Matter,” from his forthcoming album. Stay tuned.

Balancing vulnerability and vitality as well as sentimentality and seduction, Gallant proved himself to be an iconoclastic presence for R&B upon emerging in 2014. His breakout debut Ology landed a GRAMMY nomination for “Best Urban Contemporary Album,” bowed in the Top 25 of the BillboardTop 200, placed on Entertainment Weekly’s “25 Best Albums of 2016 (So Far),” garnered a coveted 7.5/10 score courtesy of Pitchfork, and incited applause from The Guardian, Q, and more. Between touring with John Legend and gracing the stage at Coachella, he delivered unforgettable performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Later with Jools Holland, and NBC’s Today, to name a few. Impressively, the single clocked over 33 million Spotify streams and counting. With all of these accolades, he laid the foundation to make a big and bold statement with his forthcoming second offering.
