JAH CURE

Siccaturie Alcock, P/K/A Jah Cure, is the new “High Priest of Reggae.” From the age of three (3), music reverberated through his small frame and hypnotized the souls of all those who listened to the young lion.

Born in Hanover, Jamaica on 10/11/78, the young man with the voice of a canary sneaked out of his bedroom window late at night and visited local dance halls and stage shows. At times, he visited the annual Reggae Sunsplash in his community. At these shows he saw the great Reggae icons performing … Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffith, Garnett Silk, Yami Bolo, Jacob Miller and Black Uhuru … and, by the age of eleven, he had already made the decision he wanted to become a part of that elite group. Becoming a reggae star and an icon was his dream and his sole mission. Initially using the name “Little Melody,” Siccaturie began his musical onslaught on the public. Soon he became the talk of Jamaica and was well on his way to success. His voice started to leave an indelible impression in the streets, and at the age of fifteen, he moved to Kingston, where he met Capleton, Sizzla and Jah Mason. Little Melody was about to fulfill his dream.

Capleton, the world renown Jamaican artist, and the David House Crew later bestowed on him the name Jah Cure … primarily because of the vast amount of herb he smoked … a daily custom of his Rastafarian religion. The symbolism was obvious … the singer looked young and healthy … that he was “well preserved,” as in “WELL CURED,” using herb for medicinal purposes. It was at this time that Cure became enlightened spiritually and his belief in living naturally became heightened.

Thereafter, Beres Hammond took him under his wing and began mentoring Cure in the studio and producing him. Eventually, it led to Cure’s second album, “GHETTO LIFE,” which featured the single ‘Divide and Rule,” a duet with Sizzla, voted the best song of that year. In 1998 Jah Cure went on a European tour and visited several Caribbean Islands with Beres Hammond and the Harmony House Family. Cure created several cranking melancholic, compelling melodies which brought tears to the eyes of his `listeners, without some of them even understanding the lyrics. His international recognition was then and forever borne.

Cure’s success took a radical turn in 1998 when he was stopped and arrested late at night in Montego Bay. Cure was charged with 4 crimes, all of which he has denied. He has maintained his innocence to this day all through his arrest, trial and incarceration. A non-

jury trial was convened, where Cure’s defense lawyer based his case on “Identification vs. Recognition” case law. Unfortunately, based on the one victim’s claim that “he

sounds like the one who raped me,” Cure was sentenced in 1999 by the female judge to 15 years in prison. While in jail, Cure recorded and released several records, many of which topped the charts as # 1 singles. For example, “Jamaica” produced by Danger Zone Productions and “Longing For,” produced by Don Carleon, both hit # 1 on the Jamaican charts and were international hits. The album, “FREE JAH’S CURE,” his very first CD which was recorded in jail, was released one year after his incarceration … a project that has been lyrically compared to Bob Marley’s “EXODUS.” On the album, Cure gives thanks for life while spreading love through his music. He has taken the position that his incarceration was Jah’s way of teaching him humility, kindness, forgiveness and love for his fellow man. Consequently, he has forgiven all those he knows who have done him wrong, and all those who have judged him unjustly and unfairly. Cure was released from prison on 7/28/07, after serving eight years in jail. His goal now is to spread love and to promote peace and healing, universally through his music.

Cure’s new album … “JAH: THE UNIVERSAL CURE,” his first recorded album since his release from prison, is scheduled to be shipped worldwide on July 1st, 2008. The first single off of that album … “Hot Long Time,” featuring Jr. Reid, has just been released internationally. This collaboration is the first of many for Cure. The album contains collaborations with Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes, Stack$, Enrique Iglesias, Lil Wayne, and others, crossing the reggae, hip-hop, Latin, and R&B genres.

Jah Cure is scheduled to begin his world wide tour starting in June, 2008. He is signed to Danger Zone Music and SoBe Entertainment. His music is distributed by Universal Music Group/Fontana.

The official new single “Main Squeeze” featuring Yung Joc offers a radio-friendly thump, balanced with the true-school taste of how deeply affecting the young singer’s talent is.

At only 24-years-old, Urban Mystic’s incredible soulfulness has already made a lasting impression that tugs at the heart strings of all of his fans, especially women. The Fort Lauderdale-born Minister’s son takes a progressive approach to organic soul music, lacing every track with an intense, heartfelt connection to the listener. Urban Mystic galvanizes R&B, Hip Hop and classic Soul beautifully and effortlessly without losing his gospel roots.

Urban Mystic has been heralded by fans and critics alike, with respected publications such as USA Today (3 out of 4 stars) and Billboard Magazine touting him as a shining star on the horizon. AOL Music describes him as “A guy who is street without forsaking his soul to the streets.”

Urban Mystic’s 2004 KayGee-produced hit single “Where Were You?” quickly resonated at urban radio upon its release, and is still a recurrent tune to this day.  The video for the song enjoyed rotation at BET, MTV Jams, and hundreds of video outlets across the country. The popularity of “Where Were You” from the debut album Ghetto Revelations established Urban Mystic as a vocalist to be reckoned with.

His selection as the 2004 Miami Music Award’s “Best New Artist” was early proof of Urban Mystic’s bright future. He followed with the 2005 single “It’s You” featuring Paul Wall, and released Ghetto Revelations II in 2006, garnering even more attention for his stellar vocals.

As the third installment of his Ghetto Revelations saga, GRIII: Old School 2 Nu Skool promises to keep his longtime fans happy with mainstay Urban Mystic tunes like “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop,” “Spread Your Wings,” “2 Good 2 B True” and “Best Part of the Day.” He will undoubtedly also bring new fans to the table with fresh tracks like “Main Squeeze” featuring Yung Joc and “I’m So Fly” featuring Reggae giants Ce’Cile and Beenie Man. Urban Mystic also has some crowd-pleasing duets with his label mate, the lovely musician and vocal sensation Phyllisia

Urb, as friends affectionately call him, also offers up some club-friendly favorites like “Let’s Go Shawty” and “Lean With Me.”  True to the Ghetto Revelations series, GRIII is a well-rounded project that listeners will fall in love with.

Urban Mystic’s multidimensional talents reach beyond his raspy, Southern-style vocals. He writes, plays piano and utilizes his distinctive rap/sing delivery to his full advantage. “I’m looking forward to showing my fans several sides of me, and giving all of them more to appreciate about me,” he says. “With part three of my ‘Ghetto Revelations’ musical journey recorded on this album, they will hear old school to new school R&B, they will hear raw Soul, they will get club bangers, and they will experience the real street side of me.”

Those who have witnessed Urban Mystic’s live show can attest to his charismatic, soulful flow, especially when accompanied by his eight-piece band. The five musicians and three back-up singers were selected, choreographed and rehearsed by renowned R&B music legend, and fellow Floridian, Betty Wright. While on tour with Angie Stone, Urban Mystic’s unforgettable performances blew audiences away night after night.

Simply put, Urban Mystic is “the truth”…the most distinctive new voice in urban music today. GR III: Old School 2 Nu Skool will set him apart as the uniquely true vocal stylist and accomplished musician that he is.
